Anonymity is not a feature on sekrd — it is the foundation. We have engineered the platform from the ground up so that neither buyers nor creators can identify or contact each other outside the Platform's controlled environment.
Anonymous by design
Every design decision on sekrd reflects our commitment to privacy. Here's what each side of a transaction sees:
Secret Admirer #XXXX
- A randomly assigned 4-digit code
- The dare text and reward amount
- Nothing else — ever
@instagram_handle
- Creator's public Instagram handle
- Their sekrd bio and dare history
- No real name, no address, no contact
Buyer anonymity
When you post a dare as a buyer, the following information is strictly withheld from creators:
- Your real name and email address
- Your payment details
- Your IP address and device information
- Any other account information
Your identity code is randomly generated per dare — meaning the same buyer appears as a different "Secret Admirer" for each dare they post. There is no way for a creator to link multiple dares to the same person.
All messages sent through the dare portal are routed through sekrd's relay system. Your metadata (IP, device) is stripped before delivery.
Creator anonymity
Creators use their Instagram handle as their identity on sekrd. To protect creators:
- Real legal names are never displayed on the Platform
- Physical addresses are never collected or stored in user-accessible records
- Submitted content is watermarked and encrypted — buyers cannot easily redistribute it
- Creators can block any buyer instantly, with no explanation required
- Creators can delete their account and all associated content at any time
Limits of anonymity
Important: Anonymity is not absolute. sekrd may disclose identity information when required by law. Attempting to use anonymity to commit crimes is not protected by this policy.
Anonymity protections do not apply in these situations:
- Legal obligations: We comply with valid court orders, subpoenas, and law enforcement requests
- Child protection: Any report involving minors is immediately escalated to NCMEC and relevant authorities, including all available identity data
- Fraud and chargebacks: Payment processors may require identity disclosure for fraud investigations
- Serious harm: Where we have credible reason to believe a user is in imminent danger
Prohibition on de-anonymisation
Attempting to identify another user on sekrd is a serious violation of our Terms of Service and may constitute a criminal offence. Prohibited actions include:
- Using transaction metadata or payment information to identify a buyer or creator
- Cross-referencing content with public social media to identify participants
- Soliciting information from sekrd staff under false pretences
- Using technical means (scrapers, API abuse) to aggregate user data
Violations result in immediate account termination and may be reported to law enforcement.
